Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium Field Pitch Bowl Inside View

Overlooking the North End lake, our Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium is more than just the white elephant PE has considered it to be. The five-tier building consists of multiple smaller venues, as well as its obvious main bowl area.

I was fortunate enough to attend the Chippa United vs Maritzburg United game on Saturday (19th January). The day before that, a group of local influencers were given a tour of the venue… And I think you’ll be surprised with what I found!

First off, it’s more than a stadium. The Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium is a mind-blowing cultural and social experience, offering its guests an insight into the incredible future ahead of local and international sport in the Bay.

Secondly – what an experience! The view from wherever you are seated is excellent, and the vibe is next level! The stadium staff and contractors are well-organized, meaning that when I (inevitably) got lost, I was guided to exactly where I wanted to be! The access points are all well-marked, as are the bathroom facilities. There are kiosks, with food, soft drinks, beer and ciders available.

Often I’m wary of using bathroom facilities at large venues, especially at sports games. I was pleasantly surprised though – the facilities were well-maintained throughout the game.

I’m excited to watch next week’s Nedbank Cup match! Chippa United will take on Mamelodi Sundowns at the NMB Stadium on Saturday, 26 January. Tickets are available from Ticketpro at R40 for adults & R15 for ( http://bit.ly/2RBVTOd )
